About Me
Howdy! I'm Claire Wilson, a former agricultural communications and journalism major at Texas A&M University. I'm the Managing Editor of Texasliving magazine, but am also an aspiring writer. I'm a book lover and an unabashed cat person who believes that adventures can happen every day. I challenge myself to always learn, grow and appreciate life.

Some of my proudest accomplishments include earning my Aggie Ring, running a half-marathon, becoming a "grinder" in Dr. Rister's agribusiness entrepreneurship class, writing a published feature story about Hurricane Harvey, graduating from Texas A&M (whoop) and striving to live truthfully and intentionally.

Experience
May 2018 - Present
I currently serve as the Managing Editor of Texasliving magazine. I manage communications with all freelance writers and editors, edit articles and other written materials for Texasliving and RGP Media, help the Editor-in-Chief plan issues in advance and write content as necessary.
Fall 2015 - 2017
I periodically helped an individual in Bryan with household organization, light cleaning/decluttering, ironing and other projects as needed.
June 2015 - May 2018
My duties at the Texas A&M University Student Employment Office focused on providing customer service to students and employers via phone, email and in-person interactions. I managed the Jobs for Aggies social media, including creating content and improving policies and procedures. I also created a monthly newsletter and wrote and edited job aids.
April 2018
I was selected to participate in the Aggies for Fresh program, run by DMA Solutions, Inc. Headed by Dan'l Mackey Almy '94, this program aims to engage Texas A&M University students with professionals in the fresh produce industry, leading to increased awareness and career opportunities in that industry. With them, I attended the Viva Fresh Expo in San Antonio, Texas, with special introductions and opportunities to network and build relationships.
Fall 2017
The AgriLeader is a semiannual magazine published by the agricultural publication production class. As copy editor, I edited feature stories, spotlights, connections and more for correct AP style, grammar and clarity. I wrote a 1,300-word feature story about Hurricane Harvey that was published in the magazine.
Summer 2017
As a social media/marketing intern at Cortiers Real Estate, I assisted in developing social media campaigns and content, maintained their online presence through interactions and creating/posting content. I improved the Visitors Center by increasing the number of businesses featured, creating digital signage and establishing contact with new businesses. I also created listing flyers, realtor flyers and other marketing materials.
Fall 2015 - Fall 2016
In addition to working at the Student Employment Office, I worked part-time for ManMaids Cleaning Services. I provided house cleaning services on weeknights and weekends for residents in Bryan-College Station.

I'm a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie class of 2018 - whoop! I received a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural communications and journalism with a minor in agribusiness entrepreneurship.
2016 / JUNE
France Agribusiness Program: From the Farm to the Table
During this study abroad program, I studied French agriculture at Ecole Superieure D'Agriculture D'Angers and through visits to agricultural producers, including dairy farms, fromageries, whole sale markets, sheep farms and more. I experienced the culture firsthand through cultural excursions and living with a host family in Angers, France.
