COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Bryan-College Station residents can get a running start to the holidays with the 27th Annual Jingle Bell Fun Run. The run will be on Sunday, Dec. 4, beginning at 1:15 p.m.

The run is hosted by the College Station Parks & Recreation Department. Starting at the corner of University Drive and South College Avenue, the run is two miles and finishes at the corner of Texas Avenue and Villa Maria. The run will be followed by the Bryan-College Station Christmas Parade.

Participants who register before Nov. 18 will pay a reduced fee of $15 and are guaranteed a race shirt. Participants who register after Nov. 18 will pay a $20 registration fee and may not be guaranteed a race shirt.

This community event is open to everyone, including dogs. The fun run will not be timed and will provide a shuttle from the finish line back to the starting point.

Texas A&M University senior education major Allie Megahan said she is looking forward to the race.

“I’m not a huge fan of running, but I’m doing it with my roommates so we can hang out before we all go home for the break,” Megahan said. “Besides, I’ll probably just walk so I can talk with my roommates and have fun.”

Participants can register at rectrac.cstx.gov or in-person at the Stephen C. Beachy Central Park. The park is located at 1000 Krenek Tap Road. Packet pickup will be on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 979-764-3486.
